Mentoring Programs

Program Qualifications:
Mentoring programs are designed for those who are interested in having an impact in the life of another individual by providing insight, direction, motivation, support and education. Participants must be willing to make the time commitments necessary for mentoring and must have the ability and passion to be a role model to their chosen mentee. Most formal mentoring programs require an application and screening process for the participant.
Program Purpose:
The purpose of mentoring programs is to provide fulfillment to both the mentor and the mentee. It is a way for a participant to positively share education, wisdom, and life and career experiences with another individual that can benefit from the direct and personal interaction that is provided through mentorship. For those choosing to mentor another individual, the programs provide an opportunity to achieve purpose in life, to give back or repay those that have positively affected their own life, and to have the personal satisfaction that results from connecting with another individual in a productive manner. For the mentee, the programs often provide the necessary leadership and direction that become the difference between personal success and failure in certain areas of their life.
Program Description:
Mentoring is traditionally individual to individual, although small group opportunities may exist. Programs can be school based, workplace based, faith based, or some other type of community based sponsorship. Programs With A Purpose attempts to remove barriers of entry for mentorship opportunities, and to facilitate easier access to affiliated organizations that offer formal mentoring programs. Each participating program will define expected goals, length and frequency of a mentoring commitment, and a specific description of the program. Involvement and interaction with a program coordinator will accompany most successful mentorship programs.
Program Options:
  • Opportunities to become a program trainer or group leader
  • Participant discounts to services and products
  • Social functions and activities
