Is weight loss your New Year's resolution?
With the new year just around the corner, many people are wondering about setting goals for the next year. I myself have thought the last month about what I really want to accomplish. I do believe without goals, many people would experience no personal growth. Goals are necessary. My suggestion is this: Really think about what you want and BE SPECIFIC. Saying you want to lose weight just isn't specific enough.
Do you remember in high school how teachers made you come up with an outline for English papers? Thinking about your goal should have some key parts too. You could title your paper, "I will lose 10 pounds by May". Then you can start listing how you intend to do just that. Maybe you will have subcategories for exercise, diet habits, or sleep patterns. Maybe you will have goals for how many times per week you will allow yourself to drink soda, go to McDonalds, or eat ice cream.
You know your strengths and weaknesses better than anyone. So be honest with yourself and think it through. Weight loss is achieveable, but it is work!
